Fear

Fear in the heart of a man makes him dim, he can't shine. Absorbed in self, he's too blind to see beyond the pain of moments, so he escapes with mechanisms to create an alternate reality that controls him, and holds him is perpetual pursuit of autonomy-anomie. Avoiding decisions- he's stationary. So, he pivots mimicking motion just enough to save face; covering the fact that he fell from grace to works. Now faith hurts and dreams drains him. He reaches out to friends but they can't save him. Safety has become his net, not a launchpad, so he stays stuck in a mindset that won't lead to climate change. Suspended, just like nuts hang on trees. Soft breeze becomes ice cold and abrasive; so many good things around him but he can't taste it. Touch is numb, sharp wit and intelligence go dumb. He knows he can't be far from the real him(self), but he can't see because fear in the heart makes a man grow dim.

this is so good! It was pointed out tonight that the farther a person goes into the dark the harder it is to get back into the light..seems simple but it is very true

WOrd. It's meant to be a spoken word piece, but I guess the rhythm is evident without the voice. Thanks for showing my blog some love.
